Elected a Chancellor of The Academy of American Poets in 2000, Charles Simic’s many awards include fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Griffin Poetry Prize. He is currently Professor of English at the University of New Hampshire.
