Unsettling Ideas with Billy-Ray Belcourt

The University of Manitoba presents a reading of A History of My Brief Body by Billy-Ray Belcourt.

Billy-Ray Belcourt is from the Driftpile Cree Nation. He is an Assistant Professor in the Creative Writing Program at the University of British Columbia. His books are This Wound is a World, NDN Coping Mechanisms, and this assigned reading, A History of My Brief Body.

Unsettling Ideas is intended to engage students, staff, faculty and community in discussions around anti-racism, decolonization and reconciliation. The book club originally launched in 2016 in Regina, Treaty 4 Territory, and has now expanded to Winnipeg, Treaty 1 Territory. All titles of the book club will be authored and/or edited by Indigenous writers, thinkers and academics. Everyone is welcome to join this virtual event.
