ERÍN MOURE is a poet and poetry translator who lives in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Since 1979, she has published 19 books of poetry, a book of essays, articles on translation, and two memoirs, and is translator or co-translator of 27 books into English from French, Galician, Portunhol, Portuguese, Spanish, and from Ukrainian (with Roman Ivashkiv), as well as one book from Galician into French. Her translation of Chantal Neveu’s This Radiant Life (Book*hug Press, 2020) won the 2021 Governor General’s Literary Award for Translation from French and the Nelson Ball Prize. Her most recent poetry translation is Chus Pato’s The Face of the Quartzes (Veliz Books, 2021) from Galician. Her own most recent book of poetry, a hybrid biotext, is Theophylline: an aporetic migration via the modernisms of Rukeyser, Bishop, Grimké (House of Anansi, 2023).
