Days of Poetry and Wine Festival
August 21, 8:00 AM – August 26, 5:00 PM EDT
Days of Poetry and Wine, one of the largest and most recognizable international poetry festival in Europe, has successfully united poetry with enology for the past twenty-seven years. Every year in the last warm August days, the festival hosts poets from all over the world along with selected domestic winemakers.
In addition to Ptuj, which represents the heart of the festival, many other places, such as Ljubljana, Krško, Ormož, Ljutomer, Petanjci and, Dorava, as well as Potrna in Austria and Varaždin in Croatia, will host 18 poets from 10 countries.
This year, among the participants are our 2012 Griffin Poetry Prize International winner David Harsent and 2019 finalist Luljeta Lleshanaku!

Once again the Days of Poetry and Wine Festival remains an innovative platform that enables a valuable fusion of artistic practices, while putting both poetry and wine culture at the top. The central event space of Ptuj turns into a melting pot of diverse cultures, poetics and ideas, which enriches the entire Slovenian space.
