The Dead Rabbits Reading Series was founded in 2014 by Devin Kelly (Sarah Lawrence MFA ’15), Katie Longofono (Sarah Lawrence MFA ’14), and Katie Rainey (Sarah Lawrence MFA ’14) as a way of providing a place for the burgeoning and young New York City literary scene to exist and thrive in Upper Manhattan. It could also simply be the result of three lazy Harlemites not wanting to travel to Brooklyn to go hear people read. Either way, the Dead Rabbits Reading Series is here, and you want it.
Offended by Dead Rabbits? Don’t be. We stole the name from that gang made famous by Leo DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York. We think it’s pretty cool. Don’t you?
