LCP Chapbook Series: Contract
November 9, 2022 – December 1, 2022
The League of Canadian Poets is seeking a creative individual to take over the printing and production of our LCP Chapbook Series publications. The series publishes four chapbooks per year, with a 3-4 week production timeline per chapbook. The contract includes designing the chapbook interior and cover, as well as coordinating printing and assembly.
This work would ideally begin December 1, 2022, with the first chapbook to be completed by December 20, 2022.
Qualifications:
–Experience laying out poetry for print
–Experience printing and assembling chapbooks, or similar printed materials
–Experience delivering physical materials on a scheduled timeline
Responsibilities:
–Working with an editor to determine the order of poems for a chapbook
–Designing a maximum 32-page chapbook with 15 poems, an introduction, and contributor biographies in adherence to LCP brand and design guidelines
–Communicating with contributors to allow for final review of proof before printing
–Printing and production of 100-copy chapbook run, including cover and binding, on approved LCP budget
–Shipping chapbooks to LCP staff upon completion
Compensation:
–$300 per chapbook, payable upon receipt of final product
–Reimbursement of printing and shipping costs within one week of submitted expense
