Amanda Earl of AngelHousePress started NationalPoetryMonth.ca in 2009 as an alternative to institutionalized celebrations of poetry with the goal of expanding preconceived notions of what poetry is or means. She invites contributors to send poems, asemic writing and visual poems for consideration for the April 2016 issue of NationalPoetryMonth.ca. As she describes this year’s theme: “This year I’ve opted for a free-for-all approach. Send whatever you like. Let’s see what sticks to the internet.”
