The Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore, Maryland offers Poetry & Conversation evenings as part of its ongoing presentation of classes, events, exhibits and meetings.
On this occasion, Old Songs presents a concert of Greek and Persian poetry. The Old Songs group has been translating archaic Greek poetry and putting it to old-time American folk and blues music since 2002. They have released CDs of versions of the poetry of Sappho, Archilochus, Hipponax, Alcman, and many other poets.
