Parkland Poets Reading Series
February 9, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM MST
Welcome to Parkland Poets! We are a non-profit poetry society with a mission to bring more poetry into our community and to the world. Whether you are interested in Traditional Forms, Cowboy Poetry, Free Verse, Experimental Forms, Spoken Word, or any other kind of poetry, we hope that you will join us to share your own poems or to listen to the words of others.
If you are a poet or someone who appreciates poetry, we invite you to join us every second and fourth Thursday of the month.
Our Online readings are on the second Thursday of the month at 7pm MST (doors at 6:45 pm) on Zoom.
Our In Person readings are on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 pm MST (doors 5:45 pm) at the Stony Plain Public Library.
Visit our readings page for more information. Our reading series is open to everyone and it is free of charge.
At each meeting, we will feature three members who have signed up in advance to deliver an 8 to 10-minute reading. Following our featured readers, there will be an Open Mic session, where audience members can sign up (on the night itself) to deliver a brief 2-minute reading.
You do not have to sign up in advance to read at the open mic.
Volunteers are needed as Mic Hosts each week (to MC the evening). Anyone is welcome to sign up for this role.
If you wish to sign up as a Featured Reader, Mic Host or Tech support, please visit the schedule/sign up page.
We offer training and support for all our positions.
