In just three years the Sheffield Lyric festival has firmly established itself as one of the city’s annual cultural highlights and has taken its place within a national calendar of literary gatherings and events. Lyric seeks to showcase talent from the local to the international, and finds a place at the microphone or lectern for writers and performers from the worlds of poetry, music and letters who position language at the heart of their art or act.
Internationally acclaimed and Yorkshire-born poet Tony Harrison, award-winning poets Lavinia Greenlaw, Paul Farley and Jacob Polley, and spoken word artist Kate Tempest are part of this year’s lineup.
