New Zealand baritone Julien Van Mellaerts and South African pianist James Baillieu offer performances centered on Schubert and Vaughan Williams, and on Schumann and Britten. But common to each performance will be a brand new sequence of short comic songs about four New Zealand birds, based on poems by Bill Manhire with music by Gareth Farr. The Festival of Colour has specially commissioned The Tui! Come and hear a premiere performance.
