2006 Griffin Poetry Prize winner Sylvia Legris leads this workshop, part of Open Word: Readings and Ideas 2016. This session will look not only at the relationship between conducting research (in its broadest sense) and composing poetry, but will consider whether the process of writing a poem/poetry can itself be a means of delving deeply into source material. Participants should be prepared to talk, ask questions, and even try out an exercise or two.
