Eliot’s Burnt Norton Day

It was on a late summer day in September 1934 when, out on his latest country walk with Emily Hale – who was very important to him and had come from America to stay with relatives in Chipping Campden – T S Eliot and she ventured off the road, walked through the woods and found themselves in the upper garden of the estate of a manor house, Burnt Norton.
Visit on Saturday September 22nd the gardens (normally closed to the public) of Burnt Norton in Gloucestershire, where Eliot drew his inspiration for the first of his Four Quartets.
